Hello everyone! My name is Jack Merritt and I'm a cybersecurity and network administration student at the University of Cincinnati with a passion for secure systems, innovative technologies, and all things encryption.
My technical interests span across encryption systems, quantum-resistant algorithms, blockchain technology, and secure system development. All projects listed here are personal projects I pursue outside the classroom to hone my technical skills and because I like working on these projects!
On a nontechnical side, I love cooking, hiking, watching sports, playing Rugby, and working out! I also love helping others with their fitness journeys; I have lost over 75 pounds, and love to inspire others to be the healthiest version of themselves!

Developed a secure, real-time messaging app in Python using AES and RSA encryption for end-to-end privacy and secure key exchange.
Implemented Socket Programming for real-time communication with a user-friendly GUI to balance usability with robust security features.
Engineered a Python-based encryption tool incorporating quantum-resistant algorithms and the BB84 quantum key distribution protocol.
Validated performance using IonQ's Quantum hardware simulator, demonstrating proactive security measures against quantum computing threats.
Developed a cryptographic system implementing Shamir's Secret Sharing (SSS) and Distributed Key Generation (DKG) protocols in Python.
Used threshold cryptography to securely split and reconstruct sensitive data with visualization using matplotlib.
